(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday morning a man was recovered from Edgartown Great Pond close to former President Barack Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard estate. The paddle boarder has now been identified as Obama’s chef, Tafari Campbell, 45.

The Massachusetts State Police stated that Campbell had been employed by the Obamas who were not in their Martha’s Vineyard home at the time of the accident. The Obamas also released a joint statement following the announcement stating that when they met Tafari he had been a talented sous chef working at the White House. They added that over the years they had the opportunity to see him grow and he had become a “beloved part” of their family that helped brighten their lives.

They pointed out that Tafari’s presence and personality was the reason they had requested that he continue working for them after they left the White House, which is something that Tafari agreed to. They added that they were grieving his loss and that they joined his wife and twin boys in their grieving over the loss of Tafari.

On Monday, Campbell’s body was recovered at around 10 a.m. at a depth of eight feet. The body had been around 100 feet away from the pond’s shore. The body was successfully recovered by MSP divers after the Environmental police officers had used a side-scan sonar in order to find it.

The initial call had been made at 7:46 p.m. on Sunday when they had been informed about a paddle boarder who had not managed to stay above the water close to Turkeyland Cove.
