(TruthandLiberty.com) – On February 27, Russia invaded Ukraine under the guise of a “peacekeeping” mission when in fact, it did not want to allow the Ukrainians to become members of NATO or align in any way with the West. Since then, Russian President Vladimir Putin has referred to Ukrainian leaders as Nazis and said the country needed a cleansing. Russia has targeted nuclear facilities, hospitals, entertainment venues, and homes. On Wednesday, March 16, President Joe Biden called Putin a war criminal, a murderous dictator, and a thug.
On Monday, March 21, the Russian Foreign Ministry delivered a personal message to US Russian Ambassador John Sullivan. The Russians said statements from Biden and others in the administration are straining ties already on the verge of snapping between the two nations. In addition, they said the statements by Biden were unworthy of a president, and they would meet any hostile actions against Russia decisively.

The Russian message may indicate relations between the United States and Russia are dissolving while the former communist country continues its violent invasion of Ukraine. The US and Western allies have cut off Russia from much of the international banking system as they attempt to force Russia to abandon its war.
Despite the Russian statement, US officials say it’s important for the two nations to keep an open line of communication.
