“Underage Teens” Found at Border by Law Enforcement

(TruthandLiberty.com) – A traffic stop in Kinney County, TX exposed a tactic Mexican cartels love to employ: the use of underage minors to commit crimes. During a routine check for illegal immigrants, a sheriff’s deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle stuck in traffic. Upon investigation, they found a 61-year-old Colombian man allegedly transporting illegals across the border with a 14-year-old boy.

After questioning the man, deputies concluded the boy was, in fact, in charge of the operation. The older man was a paid participant, compensated $5,000 to drive the boy and the illegals from Mexico to Austin.

In a statement, the sheriff’s office said it’s common for the traffickers to use minors, telling them they won’t get in trouble if they’re caught. Unfortunately, they appear to be correct. The US Justice Department says it’s not in the habit of charging children. The statement said the DOJ sometimes releases minors in a border city far from their homes to inconvenience them.

Officials handed the group over to the US Border Patrol. Agents confirmed the Colombian man’s story was true, and the teen was the ringleader. Is this a shocking turn of events or another predictable outcome of poor border policy? What do you think?
