Ukraine Cripples Russia With Missile Strike on Oil Facilities

(TruthandLiberty.com) – In February, US defense officials theorized that Russia would overtake Ukraine in a matter of days. The Russian war on Ukraine is now entering its third month, and Russia appears to have little to show for its hostilities. Ukrainian officials say their military killed nearly 22,000 Russian troops and destroyed or captured vast amounts of military hardware, worth hundreds of millions in dollars, in defense of its country. On Monday, April 25, Reuters released a video from social media that appeared to show Ukraine taking an offensive posture against Russia.

Northwest of Ukraine sits the city of Bryansk, Russia, where numerous oil storage facilities exist to help supply the Russian army with fuel. In the early hours of the morning, video footage caught what sounded like a missile just seconds before two massive explosions rocked the area. The fires happened approximately 15 minutes apart. Military analysts say the Ukrainians could have used a captured Soviet Tochka-U ballistic missile on the property.

Ukraine has not verified responsibility for the explosions. For its part, Russia says it’s investigating the fires, and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said no one was hurt. The ministry said there wasn’t a threat to fuel supplies in the region and that there was plenty of gasoline. Transneft, an oil pipeline company, owns the storage facilities.
