(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday, former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York City turned to chaos after the judge admonished a defense witness.

Prosecutors rested their case earlier on the day after trying to fly into the city a final witness. Following that, Trump’s lawyers persisted with their efforts and attempts to have the case dismissed, however, the judge has not yet resolved this issue. Finally, the day closed off in chaos which could potentially be ongoing as the witness is expected to conclude their testimony on Tuesday. If Trump chooses not to take the stand, then closing statements are going to be taking place after the Memorial Day holiday.

The defense called to the witness stand Robert Costello, former legal adviser to star witness Michael Cohen. Cohen had handled the hush money payment during his time serving as Trump’s fixer and is central to the hush money case.

Costello was brought in by the defense to rebut the testimony by Cohen regarding the pressure campaign that had been put on him in 2018 by federal investigators.

Tensions in the courtroom continued to escalate following the witness making comments and reacting to the objections. This resulted in Judge Juan Merchan having to for the first time interrupt the courtroom proceedings to admonish the witness because of “decorum.” As Merchan told Costello, he should not be rolling his eyes, giving him a side eye, or making audible comments like “Geez” when he did not agree with a certain ruling.
