(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Saturday, GOP nominee Donald Trump held a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan during which he pointed out how a week earlier he had dodged a bullet that could have claimed his life after a would-be assassin opened fire at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
During his speech, which was aired live in its entirety on Newsmax2, a streaming platform, and Newsmax, Trump argued that the previous week he had taken a “bullet for democracy.” The remark was meant to mock the Democrats who have often argued that Trump is a “threat to democracy.” Trump in his comments also blasted the Democrats who would potentially look at throwing away the results of the Democrat primary and select a candidate other than President Joe Biden in the presidential race.
Trump’s remarks came a day before Biden officially announced that he was dropping out of the presidential race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.
However, despite the assassination attempt against him last Saturday, Trump still appeared in front of a large crowd in the 12,000-seat indoor arena. As he argued they are going to be moving forward united and his party has more determination than ever before. He added they are never going to stop working to secure the future of the American people.
He proceeded to chant “fight” with the crowd. This is a repetition of his three fist-pump “fight” exultations following the bullet that grazed his ear during the assassination attempt on July 13.
