Former President Donald Trump criticized the Justice Department after they put out an affidavit regarding the search of his Mar-a-Lago estate on Aug. 8.

He also blasted Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart who was the one to approve of both the release of the affidavit and the search of his Florida estate.

Trump took to his Truth Social platform to write about how he had previously collaborated with the FBI and DOJ.

Following the August search of Mar-a-Lago where officials were looking to find any classified material regarding nuclear weapons, a redacted affidavit was published regarding the search results. In the affidavit, it was noted that there were documents relating to “National Defense Information.”

According to the affidavit, there were a total of fifteen boxes containing National Defense Information that was stored within an unauthorized location.

The search was the final step taken after months of discussions between Trump’s team and National Archives and Records Administration officials. Upon reviewing the material, officials determined that there were several classified documents within the documents submitted by Trump initially. This is why the august raid was initiated to determine how much-classified material was stored there.

During his criticisms of the events, Trump also said Reinhart was wrong to approve of the August search warrant. He also said that Reinhart is known for his animosity towards him, which is why he should have never been in a position to allow the raid into his home.

The DOJ had previously attempted to keep the affidavit from the public but on Thursday Reinhart allowed the document to be released. Before its release, Trump and others had been in support of it being released to the public.
