(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Trump during a recent interview on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show” set to air on Thursday argued that he had never received the credit he deserved for his handling of the pandemic during his time in office.
He pointed out that he has received acknowledgment for many of the positive things he did for the economy: destroying ISIS, rebuilding U.S. history, and introducing more tax cuts, but he has never received the credit he should have for his handling of the pandemic.
Trump, who is again running for the White House in 2024, has to deal with a political base that has been widely skeptical if not outright against vaccination and other pandemic measures. As a result, he has tried to be cautious in navigating his success in handling the pandemic and touting the success of Operation Warp Speed, which helped with the swift development of the vaccine.
During his interview, he stated that there were some “very smart” Democrats who had praised him for his efforts which had helped save millions of lives around the world.
Still, despite Trump’s claims, many Democrats have slammed Trump over the way he handled the pandemic – both in terms of the economy and the high number of deaths.
However, Trump argued that from his perspective at the time, no one really knew what was happening or what the virus was. He said that he had attended many meetings with professionals in the Oval Office to discuss what was going on and that all they knew was that it was spreading around the world and that there were people dying because of it.
