(TruthAndLiberty.com) – This week during an appearance on “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show” former President Donald Trump was asked whether Tucker Carlson is someone he would possibly consider as a possible running mate in 2024.

Trump in response stated that he really liked Carlson and that as such he would potentially consider it. He added that Carlson had “great common sense” which is why he would think about it. He proceeded by saying that when people refer to him or others as conservatives, it is not in fact that they are conservatives, but rather the fact that they have “common sense.” As he explained, they wanted to have “safe borders” and were calling for the construction of a wall because they knew that would be effective.

In April, Fox News fired Carlson only days after reaching a $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in a defamation case. As Carlson’s contract with Fox has remained in place despite him no longer appearing on the network, Carlson has launched a series of videos on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In August during the first Republican primary debate, Trump appeared in one of Carlson’s videos for a long and wide-ranging interview. Trump has also often criticized Fox over its decisions in the past few months and was reportedly upset by the network’s decision to stop Carlson from being on air.

As part of the litigation in the Dominion case, multiple messages and pieces of internal communication were made public. In one of them, Carlson blasted Trump over his claims that the 2020 presidential election was unfair, and in a different text message, he argued that he “passionately” hated Trump.
