Donald Trump has once again made unsubstantiated claims that Kari Lake lost the Arizona governor’s race due to election irregularities.

Lake, the latest Trump-endorsed 2020 election denier, lost the midterm election against Democrat Katie Hobbs close to a week after the polls opened in the state. This in part is because of the mail-in ballots being counted slowly in the state.

Hobbs was declared to be the winner of the Arizona gubernatorial race by the Associated Press after 98 percent of the votes had been counted. The Democrat won 50.4 percent of the votes while Lake had around 49.6 percent.

Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to suggest that there was something wrong with the vote-counting process. This is not the first time he has claimed that the Arizona vote-counting process has been “rigged”. Trump also said that the elections were becoming an “unreliable joke”. Lake had previously supported Trump’s claims of a stolen election in 2020.

She has also not confirmed whether she would accept the results of the Arizona gubernatorial race.

In a tweet on Monday, Lake also suggested that the results had been tampered with.

Hobbs on the other hand had tweeted in celebration of her win that,
“Democracy is worth the wait.”

Lake’s defeat had a negative effect on Trump’s reputation within the GOP.
