Page Six recently reported that the Penn Club, an exclusive New York City club for those connected to the University of Pennsylvania, has hung a portrait of former President Donald Trump in a discreet location behind a sofa.

A source reportedly told the outlet that the Club had a controversial image of Donald Trump in the boardroom. They added that they had tried to hide the photo by hanging it low on the wall and placing a piece of furniture in front of it.

Trump was one of the big funders of the clubhouse, which originally opened in 1989 and according to some he was also a part of negotiating the purchase of the building that houses the over a century-old club. He also reportedly gave a big donation to the club.

Trump, who had originally enrolled at Fordham in 1964, had ended up transferring to the Wharton School at Penn shortly after. He graduated from the university’s business school with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics.

Page Six has also reported that the Union League Club, a Republican stronghold, also has a divisive portrait of Trump.

The club has a tradition of commissioning oil portraits of all Republican presidents, but there is an internal clash about Trump who left office 3 years ago. Many are questioning whether he should be honored as a former President or not.

The source has pointed out that they have portraits of all U.S. presidents except for one.
