(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Saturday, former President Donald Trump claimed that President Biden urged the Department of Justice to file a “fake indictment” against him. In his Truth Social post, which included a video, Trump argued that Biden was “crooked” and that Smith was “deranged.” He further expressed the opinion that the indictment was only meant to act as a distraction from the case that Republican lawmakers have investigating relating to a bribery scheme that Biden was a part of during his time as vice President.

On Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 counts connected to his alleged mishandling of documents, including charges of conspiring to obstruct justice, retaining national defense information, providing false statements, and sharing sensitive information with individuals who did not have the appropriate clearance.

Trump and his allies have maintained that the Department of Justice and the Biden administration had brought forward the indictment as an attempt of influencing the presidential election and damaging his chances in his 2024 presidential campaign. He argued that the “political persecution” he is facing is “straight out of a fascist or communist nation.”

He proceeded to argue that Biden is going to be remembered in U.S. history as the most corrupt president. Despite Trump’s allegations, Biden and his aides have maintained that they have had no contact with Smith or Attorney General Merrick Garland regarding this case.

Last week Biden pointed out that he had never even suggested to the Department of Justice what they should do, let alone tell them whether or not to bring charges against someone.
