Troll Hijacks Texas City Council Meeting to Rap About Ukraine

( – Normally, city council meetings are bland and boring unless there’s a major controversy brewing in the community. The status quo fell to the wayside on Tuesday, March 15, when comedian and internet troll Alex Stein hijacked the Plano, Texas, City Council meeting. Needless to say, the troll’s rap song about Ukraine went viral.

It’s common for Stein to make public meetings uncomfortable. Over the last few years, he’s jumped into public Zoom meetings with school officials and local governments. Fans continually reward him with subscriptions, likes, shares, and laughs. As council members discussed an issue, Stein approached the podium, armed with a Bluetooth speaker, and introduced himself as Primetime 99 Alex Stein. For four minutes, he rapped about Ukraine, mentioned ending Putin with a bullet to the brain, and paid tribute to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Stein’s city council meeting hijack quickly went viral. Within 10 hours on Twitter, the video garnered 27,000 retweets and 46,000 likes. Stein said his performance was 100% satire. He said he didn’t really want to kill Putin. He alluded to a recent comment by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who said the war would only end if someone took Putin out, which Stein said wasn’t right of Graham to say. The satirist said he mentioned killing Putin in the rap to bring awareness what the representative said was ridiculous.

Stein said he plans to give a second rap show on another topic at a city council meeting. He just hopes next time there’s a better microphone.
