(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Tech billionaire Peter Thiel, who had previously backed former President Donald Trump stated in a recent interview that the Trump administration had been “crazier” and far “more dangerous” than what he had expected.

Thiel, who was one of the co-founders of PayPal and is a billionaire venture capitalist, had in the past been a big supporter of former President Donald Trump. On Thursday, in an interview with The Atlantic, Thiel stated that he had not given any money to Trump or any other presidential candidate in 2024.

He added that previously voting for Donald Trump had been a “not very articulate scream for help” and that he had hoped Trump’s administration would result in a national reckoning. He noted that he thought the country needed to be torn down before it could be rebuilt again.

However, he pointed out that there were many things that he had gotten wrong, and that the situation had ended up being far “more dangerous” than he could anticipate, and the Trump administration had failed to get even the most basic parts of the U.S. government to be functional. He added that in part the situation could have been worse than even his lowest expectations had been.

The Atlantic interview and profile also spoke about the different business ventures the billionaire was involved in, as well as how he now runs Palantir, a data analytics company. This is not the first time that Thiel has stated that Trump’s administration was not what he had hoped for, as in 2018 he had stated that Trump’s first year in office had not lived up to his expectations.
