Biden Getting REPLACED? – Here Are The Most Likely Candidates

(TruthandLiberty.com) – Over the last many months, President Joe Biden has been signaling he intends to run for re-election in 2024. Yet, like in 1980, when Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) took on President Jimmy Carter (D), it could be a bruising primary campaign, with Biden’s latest poll numbers in the New York Times/Siena College poll collapsing to a jaw-dropping 33% approval. Could Democrats be smelling blood in the water, especially after former President Donald Trump announced he’s made up his mind about running again?

On Saturday, July 16, the Washington Post released a list of the top 10 Democrats who could take on the presidential ticket in 2024. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) appeared on the list for the first time. Still, perhaps the most striking move was by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who leaped past Vice President Kamala Harris for the #2 spot. Even firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made an appearance. So, which Democrats made the left-leaning newspaper’s list of Democratic nominees based on their likelihood of running and winning the nomination?

Here are the current contenders:

  1. President Joe Biden
  2. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg
  3. Vice President Kamala Harris
  4. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
  5. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)
  6. Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT)
  7. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA)
  8. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI)
  9. Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC)
  10. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)

Six of the names on the list ran in 2020, and the other four are vying for the future of the Democratic Party. The 2024 presidential campaign isn’t that far away, so the list could narrow soon. Will President Biden find himself against steep competition as the primaries draw near?
