(TruthandLiberty.com) – In February, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his plans to retire when the current session ends in late June or early July. President Joe Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson in keeping with his promise to appoint a Black woman if a seat on the Supreme Court became vacant during his time in office. The nominee has been making her personal rounds with Senators. On Thursday, March 10, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) teased Jackson after their meeting, but the liberal media either didn’t pick up on Cruz’s playfulness, or they ignored it in their criticism.
Cruz said he customarily asks those visiting with him in his Senate office if they would like a Cuban coffee. Brown declined the coffee. Cruz playfully told a podcaster her decline of the coffee made him feel highly suspicious of her. The clip made its way around the Internet. Cruz responded on Twitter by saying Leftists don’t comprehend humor or sarcasm.
Sen. Ted Cruz brewed new dissent against President Joe Biden's Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, joking that he became "highly suspect" of her when she turned down his Cuban coffee offering.

Cruz went to law school with Brown, but the two didn’t appear to bond over their alma mater. In 2020, Biden appointed Judge Brown to the DC Court of Appeals. The Texas Senator opposed her nomination then, and observers expect he’ll fight the nomination now. Still, Cruz said she could expect a fair and respectful hearing. He added Republicans would not treat her the way Democrats viciously smeared and lied about Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate hearing.
Stay tuned. The confirmation hearings could get interesting.
