Stacey Abrams Spent $1.2 Million on Private Security

(TruthandLiberty.com) – Violent crime is jolting Democratic leaders across the United States. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder by a Minneapolis Police officer in May 2020, Democratic-led cities defunded police from coast to coast to the tune of billions of dollars. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki dismissed the ensuing rise in violent crime from the comforts of the White House. While Psaki has enjoyed government security, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has hired her own private protection staff.

In January, Abrams announced she would run again for governor in the Peach State. Abrams is a staunch supporter of the “defund the police” movement. In 2020, the Democratic activist tried to brand the movement as a police reform and transformation plan. To do that, she suggested reallocating tax dollars from police budgets to pay for education, healthcare and other programs for the poor.

Simultaneous to Abrams advocating to take money away from the police, the Political Action Committee she founded in 2020 is taking good care of her. Fair Fight paid almost $1.4 million for private security in 2021, even though the PAC shares its founder’s view the government should strip taxpayer dollars from police budgets. So, while Abrams advocates stripping public safety and leaving the most vulnerable to crime even more susceptible, she has nothing to worry about regarding her personal security.

How will voters take the news? We’ll find out soon enough.
