(TruthandLiberty.com) – In the wake of the 2020 “defund the police” movement, after city councils cut billions of dollars from police budgets, crime spiked to all-time highs in numerous Democratic-led areas. Experts said in 2021, pandemic pressures and changes in police policy contributed to a 44% increase in murders over 2019. A new report shows the Squad spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on private security while supporting Democratic efforts to reduce or eliminate police forces across America.
The Squad is a group of far-left elected members of Congress who collectively endorse reimagining community policing and other left-wing policies — as long as they remain immune to the effects. In 2021, members Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Oman (D-MN), and Cori Bush (D-MO) received a public scolding for their most recent hypocrisy.

According to government records, the double standards didn’t end there. Pressley alone spent an additional $63,000 in taxpayer dollars on private security in 2021. Between May and August, the government reimbursed Pressley for $35,000 and another $28,000 between October 1 and December 31.
So, it’s okay for members of Congress to have protection from criminals, but it’s not okay for the general public? The Member Representational Allowance of the US House of Representatives reimbursed Pressley. Congress members may recoup office expenses and other operating expenses from the allowance fund during a legislative year. Congress funds the program annually.
