The Blue Print To Save America Has Been Released – Read It Here
(TruthandLiberty.com) – For decades, conservative Republicans have argued that the national debt was running rampantly out of control, ultimately hurting working Americans. In 2017, then-President Donald Trump enacted wide-sweeping regulatory reforms that helped unleash the US economy. Additionally, the 2017 tax cut led businesses to give significant bonuses to employees and increase wages.
On Thursday, June 9, the most influential conservative caucus in the House of Representatives issued a call to balance the federal budget within seven years while advancing numerous conservative causes. The group proposed an alternative budget for fiscal year 2023, which begins on October 1. The proposal has no hope of being taken seriously by Democrats, who control the majority. Still, the GOP hopes their Blueprint to Save America will separate GOP candidates from far-left Democrats by providing a guide for how the GOP will govern if voters put them in the majority in November.
Reduced Spending and Taxes to Balance the Budget
In the 1980s, President Ronald Reagan created what many believe was the greatest economy in modern American history. Yet, while he significantly got a Democratic-dominated Congress to agree to massive tax cuts, Reagan compromised by not pushing for reduced spending. The move led to a blooming deficit. It appears Republicans don’t want to repeat that mistake.
The Republican Study Committee (RSC) is the largest conservative caucus in Congress. According to the budget proposal, Republicans would cut the deficit through reduced spending and fewer regulations, saving $16.6 trillion over 10 years. Additionally, they propose cutting $3.9 trillion in taxes over the same timeframe, with the only exception to cuts being the military, which would get a 5% increase in funding.
Rep. Kevin Hern (R-OK) said it’s a clear and concise plan that cuts spending, reduces the deficit, and improves the economy — all things President Joe Biden hasn’t done since taking office in January 2021. Hearn quoted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) by saying Conservatives will show in their budget proposal their conservatives values.
What Conservative Values Are in the Proposal?
Chairman of the RSC Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) said House Democrats and President Biden spent more tax dollars faster than any other Congress or administration in US history. Banks also insinuated the largest inflation in 40 years is a massive tax on Americans, hurting them while benefiting the government coffers. On Friday, June 10, the government reported inflation rose to 8.6% in May, over a year earlier.
The bill doesn’t just reflect conservative economic policy but also conservative values. The 122-page budget proposal listed conservative priorities, including:
- Reinstating former President Trump’s policy of cutting two regulations for every new one
- Allowing Congressional review of all regulations
- Forcing the executive branch to allow oil and gas leases and expediting permitting processes
- Removing barriers to nuclear power
- Authorizing the Keystone XL pipeline
- Reforming occupational licensing
- Overhauling the tax code
- Reforming entitlement programs
- Affirming that life begins at conception and banning abortions after a heartbeat is detected
- Creating a Parent’s Bill of Rights and combating critical race theory
- Protecting women’s sports
- Reforming Social Security and Medicare
- Completing the wall between the United States and Mexico
So, do you believe if enacted, this proposal would benefit America? Stay tuned. The 2022 midterm elections are approaching quickly.
