New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) in a recent interview stated that the Republican party is “moving on”. During his talk with Dana Bash on an episode of “Being” Sununu said regarding former President Donald Trump that he had done his service and now the country and party were both moving on. He added that they were looking to see what was next.
He added that it is the American way to always want to see what would be the best opportunity and the next general of leadership and that if that changed it would be “un-American.”
During the interview, Sununu added that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) would potentially be a good presidential candidate for the 2024 election and that he would most likely be a stronger candidate than Trump. He added that there were many Republican governors whom he believed would make good presidents.
Trump announced that he would be seeking another term in the White House from his Mar-a-Lago estate around a week after the midterm elections.
According to a Wall Street Journal poll, it appears that many conservative voters would like to see a change with around 52 percent of Republican primary voters saying that they prefer DeSantis over Trump. Around 38 percent said that they preferred Trump over DeSantis for the 2024 presidential election.
