Armed And Dangerous: Police Launch Crusade To Confiscate Toy Guns
(TruthandLiberty.com) – In New York City, violence has grown out of control over the last few years thanks to far-left police and crime policies. Burglary, grand theft, and robbery are up. On Thursday, July 21, the NYPD said it had confiscated numerous toy “Bead Blaster” guns and taken them off the streets. Officials say some individuals have used the items, which are illegal to own in the city, to target citizens and officers.
On Thursday, July 21, police say New York City corrections officer Dion Middleton shot and killed 18-year-old Raymond Chaluisant in the Bronx after shooting into a vehicle in which Chaluisant was a passenger. The NYPD said they found a toy gun with water-filled gel beads near the shooting scene. It’s unknown whether Chaluisant shot at the off-duty official. Middleton said he felt something hit his back and thought his life was in danger. Still, police arrested and charged the cop with manslaughter, murder, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Bead Blasters fire gel water beads through a spring-loaded air pump. New York City says any air rifle use violates the law. Councilwoman Vickie Paladino tweeted it may seem ridiculous to confiscate a toy gun, but the action is necessary.
I know that people elsewhere in the country may see this and think it’s ridiculous to confiscate a toy. But please try to understand the level of chaos in NYC right now. These toys are being used to harass and assault police officers and bystanders. The NYPD must reign this in. https://t.co/5BzIIfMrfJ

The Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association said the toy guns threaten public safety. It added the group would defend Officer Middleton with the best legal representation it could provide to protect his legal rights. On Friday, the accused faced arraignment, and the court set bail at $1 million.
