(TruthandLiberty.com) – In January, the North Korean regime fired more missiles than it had at any point in recent history. The Hermit Kingdom has been testing short-range ballistic missiles it can fire from land, trains and submarines. The rogue nation even claimed it recently tested a dangerous hypersonic missile. On Monday, January 31, North Korea said it test-launched a mid-range ballistic missile capable of hitting the US territory of Guam in the Pacific.
According to US allies in the region, South Korea and Japan said the missile traveled almost 500 miles, ascending to a maximum altitude of 1,242 miles before splashing down between the Korean peninsula and Japan. It’s the most powerful missile dictator Kim Jong-Un has fired since 2017, when it fired a ballistic missile capable of reaching 2,800 miles. Some US defense experts believe North Korea has missiles capable of hitting the US West Coast.

The White House says North Korea is escalating tensions over its provocative missile tests. The Biden administration promised it would demonstrate its commitment to US allies in the region in the coming days but offered no specifics otherwise. Foreign policy experts believe Kim is using the missile tests to frighten the West to gain concessions and sanctions relief.
