(TruthandLiberty.com) – Earlier this year, President Joe Biden told Russian President Vladimir Putin certain cyberattacks against the United States were off-limits, and he advised the leader to crack down on cybercriminals. Biden’s words weren’t very persuasive to the Russian president. According to Microsoft, Russia is the most prolific cyberhacking country in the world, and no other location even comes close. In its annual report, the giant tech company said 58% of all cyberattacks Microsoft monitored over the last year came from Russia.
While China was not the most prolific hacker, it had a particularly high success rate of 44 percent when it did breach security networks. https://t.co/erSWCE2yxZ

Microsoft Vice President Tom Burt reported Kremlin-supported hackers are notoriously effective, the Russian attacks highly successful. More and more, the VP noted that cyberhackers aren’t attacking companies or scamming individuals out of their money. Instead, the criminals target US government agencies to gather intelligence on foreign policies, national security and defense initiatives.
The report said the United States is the most targeted country for ransomware attacks. Despite heightened technology security awareness of the malicious software, it’s growing into a massive problem. Microsoft said Russian hackers target the United States three times more often than the next most attacked country. In addition to targeting the US, Russia has also targeted Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and European NATO countries.
