Biden’s Supply Chain Crisis Is CRIPPLING America’s Defense Industry
(TruthandLiberty.com) – What would happen if the United States ran out of weapons? We might find out soon if Lockheed Martin CEO Jim Taiclet’s warning is true. On the May 8 broadcast of “Face the Nation” on CBS, Taiclet said his company is having trouble producing weapons due to supply chain issues.
The weapons at the heart of the problem are “Javelins.” The US has been sending these long-range guided anti-tank missiles to Ukraine to help with its fight against Russian forces. Taiclet said work is ongoing to fix the issues, but a real solution might be years away.

The CEO said Lockheed Martin is putting more investment into the factory and employees to expand, hoping to increase production. He said the current rate is 2,100 warheads annually, and the company aims to increase that number to 4,000. But he cautioned the supply chain needs to keep up, which requires lawmakers to help.
Specifically, Taiclet said Congress needs to focus on the infrastructure for building more semiconductor supplies, vital components of the weaponry. He noted the Ukraine-Russia conflict has shown the United States needs to be able to produce weapons at higher volumes.
According to Fox 13 Seattle, an anonymous White House official said the administration is working with contractors to examine potential issues. The source said the president is “considering a range of options… to boost production.”
