Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Sunday said that the House select committee responsible for the investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack would not let former President Trump make a “circus” out of his testimony.
Cheney in an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press” said that the committee was prepared for 2021, Capitol treated the testimony with the utmost seriousness. She also added that the deposition would place the President under oath and that it could take multiple days which is why discipline and seriousness will be implemented in every step of the way.
She added that this would not be turned into a debate or a “circus” by Trump.
The House committee’s final hearing this month led to the decision that Trump would be formally subpoenaed to speak in front of the committee.
