(TruthandLiberty.com) – This fall, political analysts and pundits expect Republicans to win back the House and Senate. According to an NBC News poll released on Sunday, January 23, it could be a shellacking. While the Republican versus Democrat races figure to be a media hotbed ahead of primary elections this spring, Conservatives are working to ensure they defeat Moderate anti-Trump Republicans with the support of former President Donald Trump.
One important election will occur in Alaska, where Moderate anti-Trump GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) is running for re-election. Conservative Republican challenger Kelly Tshibaka hopes to defeat Murkowski on August 16 during Alaska’s GOP primary election. While Murkowski marshals support from the Senate’s campaign fund and Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Trump endorsed Tshibaka. She may also have received an endorsement that could be a final blow to Murkowski’s chances of getting re-elected as a Republican.

The Conservative women’s group, Maggie’s List, announced its supporting Tshibaka. It’s the first time the group has backed a challenger to a female incumbent. Maggie’s List says it believes Tshibaka has the best chance to win a general election campaign this fall. It cites Murkowski’s vote to impeach former President Trump in January 2021. The Alaska Republican Party is also endorsing Tshibaka despite being a challenger to a Republican incumbent.
Perhaps Murkowski should’ve thought twice before becoming a vocal critic of Donald Trump?
