Biden Tells a Lie So Obvious That Even WaPo Couldn’t Protect Him
(TruthandLiberty.com) – President Joe Biden has a long and storied career of being cavalier with the truth. That hasn’t made him more careful with his words since assuming the Oval Office in January 2021. Over that time, he’s used highly inflammatory language and mistruths, including falsely calling Republican state election reform laws racist and Jim Crow. Now, he’s repeating a line even the liberal Washington Post said wasn’t valid, and the reporter who fact-checked Biden called him out for it.
On Tuesday, May 10, Biden alleged Republicans had a sinister plan in a major speech about out-of-control inflation. He insinuated if voters give the GOP the reins in November, Republicans will raise taxes on 75 million American families and end Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. The problem for Biden is that plan isn’t a party platform.

Biden lifted his misinformation from Senator Rick Scott’s (R-FL) 60-page plan. It offered over 100 proposals that might do as Biden alleged, but not in the manner or for the reasons the president suggested. The problem is, it’s just that: a list of ideas to bring the national debt and inflation under long-term control. The tax increase proposals primarily impact Americans who pay no federal income taxes. It also proposed sunsetting all federal laws in five years with the idea that Congress start over and vote to continue with social programs instead of leaving them on the books without any congressional oversight.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the GOP has no agenda to raise taxes or end Social Security and Medicaid. He said Republicans would laser focus on inflation, defense, immigration, and the border.
Ahead of Biden’s speech, Washington Post Reporter Glenn Kessler said the President was repeating debunked false claims. So, will this solve Biden’s confidence problem with voters or add to their frustrations?
