(TruthandLiberty.com) – The escalating situation in Ukraine has many people wondering if the United States will join the fight. While the White House has been actively issuing sanctions as a deterrent to Russian aggression, some people question whether the US military will eventually have to step in to stop the Kremlin.
During a March 2 appearance on TODAY, Vice President Kamala Harris assured Americans troops would not fight in Ukraine. She confirmed the Biden administration has no plans to increase US involvement or provide military support to the Ukrainians.
Instead, Harris explained, the US is providing support and help with military and security needs while troops remain in NATO alliance countries, offering assistance receiving refugees. She noted the United States is in an alliance with these neighboring countries, which is why our military is there.
The vice president is echoing what President Joe Biden has already said. In his State of the Union speech, he reiterated he would not send troops to Ukraine or engage in a conflict with Russia.
Harris also touched on how irresponsible it would be to escalate the situation through US involvement. She said sending in troops is a step that could make tensions even higher than they already are.
