(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday many Democrat and Republican figures arrived in New York City to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Vice President Kamala Harris, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is one of the 2024 Republican presidential candidates, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Sen. Charles Schumer all attended the commemorative event at ground zero showing bipartisan unity.

Present at the event were also New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul. Many of the attendees also released statements in commemoration of 9/11 which led to close to 3,000 people losing their lives during the three terrorist attacks in the Pentagon, New York City, and Shanksville, Pa.

Harris in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, noted that the 2,977 lives lost in the three terrorist attacks would never be forgotten. She added that they would always be “indebted to the heroic first responders,” and that their hearts went out to all those who had lost friends, family, and loved ones in the attack.

DeSantis also released a statement on his campaign statement noting that he had attended the event with his wife in honor of those who had lost their lives during the 9/11 terror attacks. He added that during the event they got to hear “cherished memories” about the victims and to witness the commitment to never forget what had occurred twenty-two years earlier. The governor also called for the Biden administration to declassify all remaining documents relating to the attack and continue to support the Ensuring Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act.
