(TruthandLiberty.com) – On Monday, November 15, attorneys offered their final statements to the jurors in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. Many legal scholars say the prosecution performed poorly and failed to make a case. The defense team argued the then-17-year-old shot and killed two men in self-defense during an August 2020 riot in Kenosha, WI. After listening to the case, Judge Jeanine Pirro offered her perspective.

On Wednesday, November 10, the former judge and Fox News host appeared on an airing of “The Five.” She claimed the politicization around social justice issues was toxic to the prosecution. The judge said she believed Rittenhouse exercised self-defense, and either the jury or the judge should acquit and exonerate the young man. She argued prosecutors should never have filed charges after knowing their star witnesses were likely to acknowledge Rittenhouse acted in self-defense.
Pirro appeared deeply impressed by the young man’s testimony on the stand. She added he was a fire cadet, lifeguard and police explorer who’d tried to remove graffiti and clean up his city. If Pirro were the judge in the case, she said she would have called a sidebar and asked the prosecution why the case had moved forward when the district attorney never should have filed the charges.
