House Republicans are preparing to release several investigatory actions and findings if they manage to win majority in the upcoming midterm elections. The GOP is going to be using the investigation as it is unlikely that many of their policies will get past a filibuster or get signed by President Biden.
However, having the majority will still mean that they will have the power to focus the hearings and investigations in certain directions. They could also request certain testimonies through subpoenas. This could increase the pressure on the administration.
Ahead of the midterm election the House GOP’s “Commitment to America” midterm policy and the messaging plan is focusing on how the House Republicans have already sent over 500 requests for more documents to be submitted for investigation.
Rep. James Comer (Ky.), the top Republican on the House Oversight and Reform Committee, has also said that there would be a lot more investigations into the Biden family’s overseas business activities.
The committee also has a copy of Hunter Biden’s laptop hard drive. As they note the investigation into Hunter Biden is mainly because they believe that he has put Joe Biden in compromising positions.
Republicans on the Oversight panel are also hoping to gain access to the Treasury Department’s suspicious activity reports from U.S. banks relating to foreign business deals that relate to the business activities of Hunter Biden and his associates. So far, the Treasure Department has not provided the reports. Allegedly 150 suspicious activity reports exist that are related to the Biden family.
