Hunter Biden’s legal team has requested the Treasury Department to look into a former Trump aide for circulating federal banking records linked to Hunter Biden. They also called on Congress to take action against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene over her recent statements about Biden.

On Monday morning, letters were sent to both the House Ethics Committee and the Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General. The letters were obtained by NBC News and they are a part of Hunter Biden’s legal team, led by attorney Abbe Lowell, latest efforts to follow a more aggressive strategy. The Treasury letter specifically noted that former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler had obtained and published on his website five Suspicious Activity Reports, or SARs, from JPMorgan Chase which dealt with Biden’s business. Financial institutions are required to file SARs with the Treasury Department whenever a transaction is flagged for potentially being part of illegal activities. Unauthorized disclosures of SARS are confidential and thus could lead to prosecution.

Ziegler specifically previously worked with an insider at JP Morgan Chase which is how he got access to the SARS. In the letter to the Treasury Biden’s legal team requests that Ziegler be investigated for any possible violation of federal banking laws. As they note Ziegler had deliberately used the SARS and the other financial records to create a false narrative about Hunter Biden in an attempt to associate him with a human trafficking ring.
