On Tuesday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a jab at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) by posting a family photo from Disney with the caption “I know whose side I’m on.”
DeSantis has in the past year had an ongoing battle with Disney. On Monday he even stated that he is considering building a state prison or another park near the land that Disney owns in Florida. In her tweet, the former first lady posted a photo with herself, former President Bill Clinton, and their daughter Chelsea Clinton standing next to Disney’s Donald Duck.
DeSantis’ feud with Disney began after the company decided to criticize him for his Parental Rights in Education plan last year. The proposal has been dubbed by its opposition the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, as it stops all instruction of gender identity and sexuality in public schools for children up to the third grade. Following the company’s criticisms, DeSantis signed a bill that dissolved the private government that oversaw Walt Disney World and its land.
Clinton is not the first person to criticize DeSantis for this feud, with both former President Trump and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie having blasted him for his actions against the company.
Earlier this week Trump took to Truth Social to write that “DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney,” while Christie questioned whether DeSantis was actually a conservative based on his moves against Disney.
