(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her portrait unveiling made a jab against Russian President Vladimir Putin and former President Donald Trump, against whom she had competed in the 2016 presidential race.
On Tuesday, Clinton attended the event along with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. During the event in her honor, she praised Secretary of State Antony Blinken, stating that the Trump administration’s mistakes could have made it unthinkable for the U.S. to provide support to Ukraine. While she avoided making a direct mention of Trump, she did state that there were many bridges that were burned and that reestablishing the U.S. positions and foreign policy would have been an extremely hard task.
She further commented that it had been a long time since she last saw the painting, as both the COVID-19 pandemic and the previous administration had caused delays in the completion of the painting.
She proceeded to thank the State Department, pointing out that during her time in office, everyone had focused on helping with women’s and LGBTQ rights, as well as human rights. She added that these values were now present in the work of the Biden administration.
Finally, in regard to a possible expansion of NATO and the war in Ukraine which is at a stalemate, Hillary Clinton remarked that it was “too bad, Vladimir. You brought it on yourself.”
