(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Hillary Clinton offered a candid assessment of Tucker Carlson’s recent revelation that he had arranged an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, labeling the ex-Fox News host as a “useful idiot.”
During a conversation on MSNBC with Alex Wagner, the ex-First Lady seemed to expect the development, pointing out Carlson’s previous remarks regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
“He disseminates falsehoods. He echoes Vladimir Putin’s deceitful narrative about Ukraine, which makes it unsurprising that Putin would agree to an interview with him,” Clinton remarked.
Carlson has been openly critical of the U.S. backing for Ukraine, suggesting that American urban centers are facing negative repercussions due to the significant financial assistance provided to the nation by Congress and the administration.
In a video statement released on X, previously known as Twitter, Carlson criticized the Western press for their lack of effort in securing an interview with Putin. He encouraged viewers to tune in to the interview, emphasizing that while they might not align with the Russian leader’s views, as “free citizens,” understanding different perspectives and forming their own opinions is crucial.
Clinton also mentioned that Carlson is often mocked in Russian media, hinting that he might even be offered a role within a Russian media company.
“Translations from Russian media reveal they ridicule him…he’s treated like an obedient pet,” Clinton stated.
“I wouldn’t be taken aback if he ends up with an offer from a Russian media company because he plays the role of a useful idiot.”
While the specifics of when the interview will be aired are still pending from Carlson, this marks a significant moment as it’s the first instance a Western journalist has been granted an interview by the Russian leader since the commencement of the Ukraine invasion in 2022.
