(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton slammed the Supreme Court’s “MAGA wing” for the extreme decision they made in the presidential immunity case, while also backing Justice Sonia Sotomayor who wrote the dissent in this case.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Clinton who had lost against former President Donald Trump in 2016, stated that she agreed with Sotomayor on the immunity ruling, and pointed out that in her descent the justice had written that she feared for the country’s democracy.

Clinton pointed out that it is going to be up to Americans to hold Trump accountable in the upcoming election.

In a 6-3 decision the Supreme Court ruled that there is criminal prosecution immunity for the presidential core powers. This can be considered a victory for the former President as his case is going to be brought back to the lower court in order to decide whether or not Trump can be prosecuted in the 2020 election interference case or whether he is protected from this case.

The district court is now going to be looking at the case again, as the proceeding had previously been paused until the Supreme Court could make a ruling on the immunity claims. Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing the case, argued that she now needed to weigh the issue again, while also looking at Trump’s other attempts to have the case dismissed.

On Monday Sotomayor’s dissent, in which she was joined by Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson and Elena Kagan, was 30 pages long.
