(TruthAndLiberty.com) – During a Senate committee hearing on Tuesday, Teamsters President Sean O’Brien and Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin almost ended up having a physical altercation which resulted in Sen. Bernie Sanders trying to calm everyone down.
Mullin had told O’Brien after reading one of his tweets about how he could take Mullin at any time and place that this was the time and place and that they could finish this in the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing. In response, O’Brien argued that would be perfect.
Mullin then asked whether he wanted “to do it now” to which O’Brien said that he would “love to” and even pushed for Mullin to stand up.
Mullin, who is a former MMA fighter, quickly stood up and started making his way towards O’Brien which prompted Sanders to interject and tell Mullin to sit down because he was a senator of the United States.
The two men then asked Sanders, who is the committee chairman, for permission to respond to one another’s remarks; however , Sanders rejected their requests. That did not stop the two men from continuing to argue for several minutes.
O’Brien argued that Mullin had challenged him to a “cage man” as if they were 12.
Sanders however interjected again arguing that they were not there to talk about “physical abuse.”
Mullin proceeded to call O’Brien a “thug” while O’Brien responded that the senator was “disrespectful.” Sanders attempted to once again stop them and stated that the hearing was to discuss economic issues and not anything else.
