FBI Chief Makes SHOCKING Confession

(TruthandLiberty.com) – After President Joe Biden assumed office in January 2021, illegal immigration exploded at the US southern border. Each month, the crisis has worsened. Over 1.6 million migrants have unlawfully entered the country since October 1. Starting from March, Customs and Border Patrol agents encountered over 200,000 people trying to enter the US without authorization. Department of Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas told a Senate committee in July the boundary between the US and Mexico is secure and the situation is under control.

On Thursday, August 4, FBI Director Christopher Wray broke with the administration’s assessment. He told the Senate Judiciary Committee there were significant security concerns, adding that the criminal threats were serious. The director noted the border was vulnerable to bad actors seeking to exploit the situation for gain.

FBI Head Breaks With Biden Administration Narrative

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) asked the director if the flow of illegal immigrants was a national security threat. Wray responded that the nation’s leading law enforcement agency is very concerned about massive security problems and numerous criminal risks. It spans the gamut from gangs, drugs, violence, human trafficking, and terrorist threats.

The most pointed moment came in an interaction between Wray and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). The Senator asked point blank if the head of the FBI agreed with Mayorkas’ assessment that all was well at the border. He attempted to walk a fine line but ultimately conceded to some revealing information contrary to the DHS secretary’s comments over the last year.

Wray said he had spent considerable time with field offices that have border responsibility. Having watched firsthand, he felt they were up against a daunting challenge, with criminal elements posing a significant threat to the United States.

The Threat Is Real While Numbers Explode

While drugs continue to pour into the country from Mexico, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) asked the head of the FBI if the Biden administration had operational control of the region considering counterterrorism measures. Between November and May, the Border Patrol arrested at least 50 people who entered the country unlawfully and were on the federal terrorism watchlist.

Wray stated there aren’t any perils he was aware of emanating from ports of entry or other vulnerabilities suggesting foreign terrorists are in the country. Still, he said they are always looking for areas to exploit. One only needs to remember that recently hostile actors attempted to smuggle nationals intent on killing former President George W. Bush.

Graham followed up by asking how easily a terrorist or terrorism group could slip into the US with illegal immigrants. The agency head said he wouldn’t provide details to make it easier for offenders, but members agree national security is an issue of concern.

President Biden isn’t just taking incoming criticism from Republicans. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) said the president had surrounded himself with immigration activists instead of bringing in people who would enforce federal law.
