(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Prosecutors from Fulton County are trying to secure the testimony of Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist, and Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee in connection to the trial relating to the attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election by former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants.
Fani Willis, the Fulton County Democratic District Attorney included the three individuals in the witness list for the trial scheduled for October 23. The trial is going to be for Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, two Trump lawyers who have pleaded not guilty in connection to the case. The two had requested an expedited trial in this case. Trump and the rest of the co-defendants are going to have a trial at a later time.
The new court filings show that prosecutors are trying to get the testimonies of Jones and McDaniel in an attempt to show the culpability of Chesebro. Chesebro is facing a total of seven criminal counts in connection to the plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Reportedly, he had been responsible for writing several emails and memos that included ideas about the strategy to be followed and how they could target alternate electors who would mimic the real electors.
The trial witness list devised by prosecutors also appears to include lawyers Boris Epshteyn and Lin Wood. Wood had filed a lawsuit calling for the 2020 presidential election results to be overturned. According to reports the state had compiled a list of 174 trial witnesses.
