“False And Repugnant” — Mayorkas Fires Back at Claims About Baby Food at Border

Top Democrat Issues PATHETIC Excuse

(TruthandLiberty.com) – Since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shut down Abbott’s baby formula manufacturing plant last February, much-needed food supplies for babies have been dwindling. In many parts of the country, a lack of baby formula on store shelves has created panic among parents. Republicans recently learned the Biden Administration stocked shelves full of baby formula at border patrol locations along the southern border. The news sparked outrage among Conservatives who felt the administration prioritized illegal immigrants over US citizens.

On Tuesday, May 17, Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas refuted those claims. Speaking with CBS News, Mayorkas said the government has a humanitarian responsibility to care for those in its custody, including babies. He said any connection between the federal government meeting its humanitarian needs and legal obligations to babies of illegal immigrants and the baby formula crisis across the country was repugnant and false.

Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) went as far as to tweet that “this is what America last looks like.”

On April 24, CBS News reported that 40% of baby formula products were out of stock. Cammack added no one was suggesting the US government shouldn’t care for babies at the southern border but insinuated that the Biden administration prioritized babies of illegal immigrants during the shortage.

What do you think? Does Cammack have a point?
