Electric Cars Getting Banned?

A group of Wyoming Republican lawmakers has introduced a new bill that would slowly seek to slow the sale of new electric vehicles by 2035. According to the lawmakers, electric vehicles are not as practical and they require resources that should be used elsewhere. The bill’s main purpose was to protect the gas and oil industry, which is an industry that flourishes in Wyoming, the USA’s eighth largest crude oil producer.

However, state Sen. Jim Anderson, who introduced the bill, had said that he does not actually want electric vehicles to be fully phased out, he believes in the fact that anyone who wants an electric vehicle should be allowed to have one. Instead, he said that this bill is a response to the resolution in California which seeks to ban fully gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

He added that while he does not have a problem with anyone who chooses to drive an electric vehicle he does have a problem with those who outright want to block the purchase of petroleum vehicles. He added that his bill was just a way of expressing that they were unhappy with gas vehicles being outlawed.

As California is a driving force in the U.S. economy, it is possible that if the resolution passes the effects of the ban on petroleum cars are going to be felt across the nation.

Despite everything that Anderson claims though his resolution is clearly aimed at dissuading everyone from purchasing electric cars, by listing reasons why gas-powered vehicles are better.
