Drug Officials Make An Appalling Discovery Hidden Underneath San Diego

(TruthandLiberty.com) – Illegal drugs can make so much money there appears to be little drug cartels won’t do to ensure their deliveries from Mexico to the United States. According to The Guardian, a federal criminal complaint filed in the San Diego federal district court showed federal officials actively raided drug houses and stopped vehicles near warehouses of suspected drug activities. Prosecutors said in one warehouse, law enforcement officials discovered a carved section of cement floor and found a tunnel opening.

Officials found a fully operational drug tunnel connecting a San Diego warehouse to Tijuana. It was over 1,700 feet long, 61 feet deep, and approximately 4 feet in diameter at one point. The tunnel walls were concrete reinforced, an electric ventilation system moved breathable air through the tunnel, and the passage contained a functional rail system.

On Tuesday, May 17, Fox News reported officials seized around $25 million in drugs from operatives in the tunnel over the weekend. Drugs found included 1,762 pounds of cocaine, 165 pounds of meth, and 3.5 pounds of heroin. Additionally, federal law enforcement arrested six people on drug conspiracy charges.

The Guardian noted federal authorities have discovered 15 tunnels connecting California and Mexico since 2006. Once found, federal law requires the government to fill the entire stretch of a tunnel on the US side with concrete.
