(TruthandLiberty.com) – Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease doctor, made the rounds of the Sunday morning news shows on Sunday, October 17. On Friday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) unanimously approved booster shots for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Within two months of the initial dose, the panel recommends all people 18 and older who received a J&J vaccination receive the additional shot.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said that it’s very likely people who received the J&J vaccination would need a second dose like the Pfizer and Moderna shots. Nonetheless, the infectious diseases expert said people should feel good about the suggestion to get a booster shot. Unlike the J&J booster, which the FDA recommends to every adult, the agency advocates Pfizer and Moderna booster vaccines only for people 65 years and older or at higher risk of complications due to underlying conditions.
Fauci also said that if someone crossed over from the J&J vaccination and received either a Pfizer or Moderna shot, their antibodies increased much higher than with a second dose of the J&J vaccination. The results come from a clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of different vaccination strategies. Currently, the FDA isn’t authorizing a cross-over from one vaccination manufacturer to another.
The nation’s leading infectious disease doctor said the FDA planned to recommend the Pfizer vaccination for children 5 to 11 years old in early November.
