The U.S. attorney for Delaware is closing in on their investigation which will decide whether or not they will be prosecuting President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

U.S. Attorney David C. Weiss and his team have been going through information regarding Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings since before his father was elected into office. According to a report in the Times, the investigation is mainly focused on Hunter Biden’s taxes.

Weiss, who was nominated for his position by former President Donald Trump, has said that he might pursue charges against Biden regarding the U.S. government form he filed in order to buy a firearm in 2018. At the time of filling out the form, Biden wrote down that he was not taking drugs, however, the timeline of the purchase aligns with the time in which Hunter Biden was commonly believed to have been taking drugs. According to people’s witness accounts at the time hunter Biden had been erratic in his behavior.

The newspaper further added that other charges against Biden could relate to him not filing his taxes on time in 2016 and 2017. There could also be some false deductions in his tax return forms that he might have to pay fines over.

Despite whether Weiss does choose to prosecute Hunter Biden, that will not stop the Republicans from investigating their allegations that Hunter Biden has benefited in his business dealings by the position that his father has held as Vice President and now as President.
