Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who is a close ally of former President Donald Trump has stated that she did not believe Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should place a bid for the White House in 2024. However, she has stated that in the future she would support DeSantis in a presidential bid.

During an interview with Newsmax host Eric Bolling, Palin said that she did not believe DeSantis should run right now and instead he should remain the governor for “a bit longer.” She added that she can see DeSantis becoming the President one day but that he is still young and he has decades ahead of him before he tries for the White House.

Palin, who was previously endorsed by Trump during her midterm campaign, has said that Trump had the best chance of becoming the GOP presidential nominee. She added that it takes “a lot of guts” for someone to decide to go against Trump.

Palin also took the opportunity to make some suggestions regarding who she considered to be good potential running mates for Trump. She said that he needed to choose someone who had nothing to lose and knew what they were “getting into.”

Palin previously ran as John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, which was won by former President Barack Obama. Palin however claimed that she would not suggest herself as a necessarily good option for Trump’s running mate.
