Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is going to be joining former President Trump as a headline speaker for the annual forum for the National Rifle Association (NRA) next month. This is going to be the first time that the two potential 2024 GOP primary rivals are going to be headlining the same event this year.

The NRA announced that DeSantis was going to be a part of the speaker lineup on Tuesday. Other speakers at the event include declared and potential 2024 White House hopefuls Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson. DeSantis has not yet announced his intentions for the 2024 presidential race, but he is widely suspected to be considering launching his own presidential bid.

Both DeSantis and Haley are not going to appear in person at the event but rather will deliver their remarks through a video message, while Trump and the other speakers are expected to appear in person in Indianapolis next month.

In the past few months, Trump has launched repeated attacks against DeSantis who is expected to be the former President’s biggest rival in winning the 2024 GOP nomination. However, DeSantis has widely not responded to any of the attacks brought forth by Trump.

The NRA forum comes only a few weeks after the latest school shooting in Nashville which took place earlier this month. The shooting led to the death of three adults and three 9-year-old students. The shooter had used two assault-style weapons and a handgun for the attack.
