Democrat Governor Does Biden’s Job

Conservatives are calling on President Joe Biden to focus on the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border crisis however the administration has maintained that there are currently “more important” issues that the country has to deal with.

While Biden has not yet announced whether he would be running for office again in 2024, another leading figure that is potentially hoping to take his place has started preparing for his own border visit. On Monday, California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office officially announced that the Democrat and possible presidential candidate is preparing for a single-day trip to the border. As the release notes Newsom will be there “to discuss immigration reform and [his] commitment to supporting immigrant communities and the border region.”

Still, while Newsom is traveling to Texas many critics have pointed out that his own state already shares a border with Mexico. John Cardillo, a pro-Trump pundit specifically noted that the only reason for Newsom to leave California to visit the Mexico border is because he is preparing for a presidential campaign.

Currently, the issue of immigration is one of Biden’s administration’s particularly weak spots as a September Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that most Americans believed that the President needed to do more in order to curb the immigration trends of the past few months.
