College Student Expelled for Refusing Booster Despite Doctor's Orders

How COVID Tyranny Ruined a Young Woman’s Life

( – It appears that while Democrats allege abortion is a personal decision between a woman and her doctor about her body, it’s a double standard when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines. Although many cities, businesses, and schools no longer require the vaccine, one school is taking a heavy-handed approach with one student.

Diamond “Ellie” Puentes is a 20-year-old student at Union College on scholarship. After receiving a second COVID-19 vaccine shot, she became seriously ill. Puentes consulted with her primary care physician, who advised the young woman to refuse booster shots and provided a doctor’s note with orders not to get it. After informing Union College of her situation and her doctor’s recommendation, the university refused to provide Puentes with a medical exemption from the booster. Instead, the school emailed her to say she was expelled and gave Puentes 72 hours to leave the campus.

So, was this a case of the sniffles or something more serious? Puentes said she initially developed a sore throat and other symptoms. Yet, soon she became so sick after the second Pfizer shot she went to the emergency room with extreme stomach pain and vomiting. Doctors diagnosed her with gastritis. Seven months later, she still struggles with the same symptoms.

The school said it couldn’t comment on Puentes’ situation in response to an Epoch Times request. Representatives for Union College said medical teams review requests, and some students have received medical waivers for the booster.
