(TruthandLiberty.com) – President Joe Biden has historically been a gaffe machine, but lately, his habit of talking before he thinks has become more problematic. Over the last month, the White House cleaned up the commander-in-chief’s off-script messes more than once. The most recent mishap could be costly. On Saturday, March 26, Biden spoke in Poland and said Russian President Vladimir Putin shouldn’t remain in power. News of the president’s statement shocked the world, and the media reported Biden was calling for regime change in Russia. Within hours, the White House scrambled to correct the president’s off-script statement.
Nearly 24 hours later, a media member asked President Biden if he was calling for regime change as he left a church service. The president responded “no” as he got into the presidential limousine. On Sunday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken clarified the US is not seeking regime change or an ouster of President Putin. Instead, the Secretary of State said the president was pointing out the international community could not empower Putin to wage war on Ukraine or any other country. Blinken added the decision for a regime change rests with the Russian people and them alone.

On Monday, Biden met with the press to clean up his previous statement. In a White House press release, Biden insisted he wasn’t walking back his statement. Instead, reading from a cheat sheet, the president said he was simply expressing outrage at Putin’s behavior.
