Biden To Drop Out When?

(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Top Democratic figures suggest that intense pressures from congressional leaders and personal confidants might soon persuade President Joe Biden to forego his reelection campaign, possibly by this weekend.

Despite public assurances of his continued candidacy, behind-the-scenes reports suggest otherwise. According to Jim Vanderhei and Mike Allen of Axios, President Biden, currently battling COVID at age 81, privately acknowledges that the relentless pressures, poor poll results, and concerns about his age and health are too much to sustain his campaign.

Key Democratic leaders, alongside Biden’s close friends and major donors, are increasingly convinced that he lacks the ability to defeat former President Donald Trump, secure congressional majorities, or dispel public concerns about his fitness to serve another term.

Moreover, there are warnings that staying in the race could lead to a resounding defeat by Trump, which would tarnish his political legacy.

Expectations are building within the Democratic Party for post-Republican National Convention polling to reflect negatively on Biden’s candidacy, potentially dragging down other Democratic candidates.

A confidant of Biden was quoted in the Axios article expressing hope that Biden would make a historically noble decision, hinting that Biden is leaning toward stepping down.

An Associated Press poll released Wednesday showed that nearly two-thirds of Democrats prefer Biden to withdraw from the race—a sentiment that has resonated within the corridors of the White House and Congress.

Amid these reports, Biden’s campaign manager, Quentin Fulks, reiterated in Milwaukee—the site of this week’s Republican National Convention—that their campaign strategy firmly includes Biden as the presidential nominee, dismissing speculation to the contrary.

However, efforts to persuade Biden to withdraw are gaining momentum and becoming more organized. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries have reportedly advised Biden that withdrawing would be in his and the party’s best interest.

Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House, is playing a significant role in these efforts, cautioning Biden that his continued candidacy could jeopardize the Democrats’ chances to reclaim the House.

While former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have remained publicly neutral, their former aides have openly criticized Biden.

Adding to the sense of inevitability, Axios notes that Biden’s top aides are now framing his departure from the race as a question of “when” rather than “if.”

Ultimately, the decision rests with Biden, who already holds the necessary delegates for the nomination and cannot be forced out. Meanwhile, key Democrats are preparing for a virtual roll call to formally confirm his nomination at the upcoming Democratic National Convention in August.
